My college football rivalry week has finally come to an end. For the seventh time in-a-row I have come out of it pretty happy. There was a lot of hype going into this week. UCLA's high-powered offense had three weeks to prepare and come up with a game plan to outscore the USC Trojans. The Trojans had only two weeks to rest and prepare, but only after a nail-bitingly close win over Fresno State. To add questions to this weeks game, one of our star running backs, Lendale White, was injured in practice and questionable for this game.
It turns out only one part of USC's offense was rusty, and that was Matt Leinart's arm. He had a tough time getting passes to his open receivers in the first hlaf, but really settled down in the thrid quarter. UCLA's offense struggled, or rather, the USC defense outplayed them. Of course Reggie Bush was outstanding, making another strong case in his campaign for the Heisman Trophy. I hope he wins it. After the way he's performed at the end of the season he deserves to be recognized. Next stop, New York (for the Heisman Award Ceremony), then the Rose Bowl, for the National Championship.
